The wheel of fire is found in sub-tropical and tropical rainforests on the Australian Eastern Coast, ranging from Nambucca River to the Atherton Tablelands. Sub-species of the stenocarpus plant are also found in Papua New Guinea and New Caledonia.
On the Woodfordia site, the Wheel of Fire is particularly predominant in season camping.
